Issues
Water consumption for Gata Residencial
Information from Solgata, at the moment there are no water restrictions in place however, Solgata are asking you to be mindful on your usage and where possible reduce water use. Currently Solgata are buying water from Pedreguer to maintain levels in our wells. There is a serious concern that should we not have significant rainfall during October/November there will be supply problems next year.
Post
I raised with Toni the serious, ongoing problems with the postal service. I advised him that there are people who have not received important, sometimes very personal post. Additionally, this affects demands for payment and some of our residents have incurred fines for late payment of items like IBI or car tax. Also, there have been serious consequences with state pensioners having their pensions suspended as they have not received paperwork, which has to be verified and returned to confirm entitlement. On numerous occasions post has either been placed randomly in mail boxes that have no relationship to the address on the correspondence or simply discarded and left lying on the ground. Toni responded that Gata town are having the same problems and that the Correos in Teulada are refusing to deliver post to the town citing staff issues as the cause of the appalling service. The council are progressing this further and are having a meeting with Teulada to discuss the way forward and seek a resolution to these issues.
Waste bins
I informed Toni of the problem of large items of rubbish being left on the ground by the bins and have provided photo evidence. The Council have a long term plan to enclose the bin areas and install camera, however at this time they cannot give a date for this work. AS A REMINDER IF YOU HAVE LARGE HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO DISPOSE OF THEN YOU CAN CALL SOLGATA ON 965756487, THEY WILL COLLECT IT FROM YOUR HOUSE ON A THURSDAY FREE OF CHARGE.
Road Markings
Recently at my request some of the road markings have been repainted by the water deposit roundabout. I had also asked Toni to help with traffic flow problems in areas such as Pins, Arborcers where I am frequently advised by residents of vehicles speeding or driving on the wrong side of the road. A Council representative and Solgata have now visited the different areas and they are investigating the installation of speed limit signage and speed restrictors for the urbanisation.
Cockroaches
Spraying of drains has taken place.
Okupas/Squatters and Sareb
Toni has informed me that there are two Dutch companies that are actively interested in buying the empty plots and the bank properties and they are in discussion with Sareb and the Council. I have received official communication from Sareb that the procedures regarding the eviction of the Squatters/Okupas has commenced and is with the Denia Courts.
Social Events
Party in the Park – 31st August 7pm to midnight. Disco by Gary Miller, Free entrance, bring your own food and drink. Some tables and chairs will be available.
Rastro will be held in October no date as yet.
Gata Residencial Alert Group
