Gata Local Walk – Planisses- 24 November

36 Gateros, ex-Gateros and Friends of Gateros plus one dog met at the bridge near Coral de Pato on November 24 for Sally’s local walk which took about an hour. Some enthusiastic ladies even included this in a longer circuit! The weather was perfect with clear skies and beautiful sun.

This walk starts from the motorway bridge going into Gata via C/ dels Garofers. It goes parallel with the motorway then turns in towards the river. It then goes into the back streets of Planisses until it reaches the Gata Mirador overlooking the Red Caves (Covas Rojos), the wooden walkways and Raval (old part of town from the Muslim era). Of course, there is an excellent view of Montgo in the background. The route then passes by Corral del Pato until it reaches a sharp turn left. It then returns back to the parking area.

Everyone enjoyed the walk and chatting to friends and neighbours. Thanks to Sally for planning organizing this walk.
