Minutes of previous meeting

Agreed and signed

Matters arising from minutes

Bank charges

The association are changing banks to La Caixa.  Officers have been to branch all paperwork signed we are now waiting for the banks lawyers to finalise account.  Next Sabadell charges are due to be paid at end of September.

Site adoption

The situation is unchanged. The Town Hall has lost the case in court against Bertolin and have appealed. Our lawyer has obtained the Court ruling which we have put on the website in English (summary) and Spanish.  Guillermo has contacted the mayoress 3 times to try to organise a meeting. Her last response was she was organising the Fiesta and also her technicians who need to be at the meeting are on holiday until 3rd September. This is very frustrating as Gata Res is a large part of Gata Community. Guillermo is also on holiday until 3rd September   so we will wait for a date after the 3rd September. Peter Whitbread asked who is paying these court costs? Will it be taken out of the aval? This issue needs clarifaction. Other questions raised include.

1.What work is remaining

  1. How much money is left in the AVAL and is there enough to complete outstanding works.

Peter Bayliss reminded us that the AVAL does not belong to us and has really nothing to do with us as an association. The council are responsible for its administration.

Road Markings

Louise Kirkley has put in an instancia in for the road markings on Del Xops to be completed and for the removal of a tree. No update Road markings/signs will be raised in meeting with the Mayoress

Site clean up

PeteW informed us that the Town Hall had done a partial clean up on back road. PeteW advised that he is happy to continue liaising with the Town Hall.

Empty Houses

M21 gardens have been cleared by a company under contract from Altamira. The houses are still not able to be sold as paperwork not in place.

Olive tree adoptions (opposite the Connect Plus office)

Most of the olive trees have been maintained but there are a few still to be trimmed. Janette Robson has volunteered to look after them. Louise thanked her.

AGM

Louise Kirkley stressed that the turn out was poor with only 44 attendees and 22 proxy votes. It was pointed out that a small number of individuals put a lot of work into it so it was a shame that more did not attend as this showed a lack of support for committee members. It was agreed that closer to the time of the next AGM a push will be done to persuade more to attend. Suggestions included car sharing as parking can be a problem and a leaflet drop in the main mail boxes as going around to individual houses can be problematic.

ITEM DISSMISSED

Update on sanction for street fouling

It was confirmed that there is a minor offence of street fouling by dogs which includes Gata Residential and is subject to a fine. This depends on individuals filing a report (denuncia) with the local police.

Treasurers report

Amount spent to date        =    172.92

Income                =    40.00

Balance as of 09/07/2018    =    8.837.27

Membership report

333  members.

Social team report

A Very successful fiesta. We won first prize for the circus themed Barraca and third prize for fancy dress evening. This was an excellent exercise in integration of the community, learning about Spanish Fiestas and joining in on the fun.

Book exchange

1st Sunday of every month and is reported to be going well.

Bingo

To continue updates from Karen on website.

Weekend Walks

These will commence shortly

Poco Loco

A steel band performed for free in the Fairy Park for an hour, good attendance.

Stop Foc

A very informative presentation by the forestry commission, around 35 people attended.  Our own fire evacuation plan needs to be updated and officially registered with the Town Hall. Udo and Leigh previously tried to register with the Town Hall who at that time were not interested. The Association will publish the plan the best way we can, possibly involving the advertising boards available to all residents, but clearly stating that the Association have funded it.  We can only advise on measures to take, we can impose this on individuals.

Any other business

Andrew Robson asked if there were any garden waste bins on Gata Res?

No. People are encouraged to use Eco Park in Gata. The bins on Monte Pedreguer (MP) are for residents of Monte Pedreguer and that the residents of MP allegedly pay for  a man to maintain the area.

Maria asked if we could have recycling bins for Batteries and Clothes. (LK)

Andrew raised the topic of speeding. Would the installation on more speed  bumps be feasible?

Comments made were that in the past residents complained about the noise and in some places the bumps were removed.

Paul Trunchion mentioned that drivers often drive around the roundabout by M6 the wrong way, possible to save time? Paul continued to say that his recent experience with the Police has been very positive, he recently called them about a suspicious vehicle and the Police attended immediately.

Paul Truchion asked who has the keys for noticeboards and are we still using them? Peter Bayliss holds the keys so he will pass the key to Paul to maintain the noticeboard by the bins at the bottom of Carrer dels Pins in front of Park.
