Book Exchange

Sue Mike Library

When: The first Sunday of each month between 11:00h and 13:00h.

The book exchange is a popular facility which exists on the urbanisation for the use of all residents. It first opened its doors about ten years ago and is dedicated to the late Allen Schofield who first muted the idea of some form of community library. It is located in the casita which can be found in the Fairy park adjacent to M12.

In the library you will find a comprehensive selection of books for all tastes and interests. This includes many up to date thrillers, biographies, autobiographies, fiction and non-fiction together with a range of books on varied subjects. There is a small selection of children’s books as well as DVD’s, games and Jig Saws. There is also a limited number of foreign language books. Fancy brushing up your Spanish? There are audio tapes to assist you with this as well!

You are not obliged to bring a book in order to use the service. However, if you have any up to date novels or other books ( in good condition ) that you would like to donate then this is most welcome. You can select as many books as you like to take away. All we ask is that you remember to return the books, when you have finished reading them, for others to enjoy.

The book exchange is run entirely by volunteers and, although a free service, any monetary donations are very welcome. Donations are exclusively used for the purchase of new books, shelving and stationery.

The current staff, Jane and Hazel are supported by a new volunteer, Sue, but more helpers are required to cover during times of absences. If you think you can help then contact Jane at the library.

The book exchange is open the first Sunday of each month between the times of 11:00 and 13:00.

Come along, grab a book and enjoy!
