Update from Toni Signes – 1 April 2021

Hi Louise,

I think I’ll be able to answer all your questions in this mail, you can read this to all the members of the association at your meeting.

Hi everybody,

I’m sorry not being able to have a meeting with you this year, but the situation we have with the pandemic is making all of us to do things differently the way we were used to. I hope all of you are fine and very soon we’ll be able to do a “normal” life. I know some of you have lost a loved one because of COVID-19, and I want to send you all my condolences and support.

First of all I want to thank Louise for all the effort she’s doing to improve the situation of Gata Residencial. Also Peter Bayliss, Peter Whitebread and Angie Dickinson. All of them are doing a great job.

Let’s go with the questions:

– We did a big cleaning of the parks and the whole urbanisation. I think things look much better now, and we will try to keep everything as clean as we can. For us is very important all the feedback we are having from Louise, and both Peters.

– Signs for dogs are at the entrance of the parks. If you think you need more, we´ll put them where it is necessary.

– We’ve put two signs at the main entrance of the urbanisation that says “Urbanització Gata Residencial”, so you can see them coming from Gata or from Lliber.

– Very soon we’ll install at the entrance from pedreguer a big sign with a map of the urbanisation, so everybody that comes from there can find a street quickly.

– This year, sooner than later, we will install the compost machine. We will explain the use of that to the volunteer people that are going to do the test. It’s been delayed a bit, but is coming soon.

– We will continue spraying for weeds regularly. It has been done recently again.

– Police have orders to control the parks. Is difficult to control 24 hours a day, but I think now is a bit better than before. We will continue with that.

– This tuesday night we approved the budget for 2021. In this budget we gave more money to Solgata to contract one person more a year, so they can send two persons to gata residencial to clean de parks regularly.

And now, maybe the most important thing, How’s the court thing.

As all you know, town hall lost the trial with Bertolin, so we have to pay Bertolin an amount of money. As a result of that the “director de obra” sent us to court too, because they asked for money . We tried to agree with them to accelerate the decision, but they don’t want to talk with us. They said “we’ll wait for the trial resolution”, maybe because they think they’ll get more money. We’ll see.

But now we are not going to wait until the resolution to start with the finishing process. So I’m glad to tell all of you that on the 19th of April, we are having the first meeting about the project to finish urbanisation. It’s a technical meeting, but I’ll inform Louise about the result of the meeting. I’m very happy about this and I think all of you should be too.  Churchill said ” Now is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” Well, it’s not the same situation, god knows, but we can see the end closer.

It’s going to be hard work, maybe a bit longer than we expected, but we are going to finish it.

I wish all of you the best, and I hope next meeting we are going to be all together and be able to have a nice moment and talk about how things are going.

Kind regards

Toni Signes
